PURPOSE: The purpose of the 250 committee is to celebrate the adoption of the Declaration of Independence, from which our liberties flow. This includes freedoms such as speech, religion, assembly, the right to keep and bear arms, and many others which we cherish.
MISSION: Our mission is to raise awareness and educate citizens about the blood, sweat, tears, and sacrifices our forefathers made for the freedoms we enjoy today.
250th Anniversary of:
2026 The Declaration of Independence
2027 The creation of Wilkes County Georgia- The First County
2028 The establishment of the Georgia Militia, Colonel Jogn Dooly, leader
2029 The Battle of Kettle Creek- Only Patriot Victory in Georgia
2030 The establishment of the City of Washington- First in Georgia to be named for General George Washington
